llms.txt is a format proposed in 2024 that briefly lists the company profile, services and links to key documents in Markdown. If robots.txt says where a crawler may read, llms.txt says what it should read.
It hasn't been officially confirmed that every AI service reads this file, but it costs almost nothing to make, so it is often included in AEO and GEO work.
