Key takeaways

  • AI Briefing does not appear for every search. It mainly shows up for searches that ask for information.
  • Being "cited" (your post appears on a source card) and being "mentioned" (your name appears in the summary) need to be checked separately.
  • The basics are one question per post, the conclusion in the first paragraph, question-style subheadings, and concrete information written as body text.
  • Clinic blogs must follow Korea's medical advertising rules first, even when aiming for citations.

What Naver AI Briefing is

Naver AI Briefing is a feature where, when someone searches, Naver's AI reads several documents and shows a summarized answer at the top of the integrated search results. Below the summary, it attaches the sources it drew on, such as blogs, cafés, Knowledge iN posts and web documents.

It does not appear for every search. It mainly shows for searches asking for information, such as "treatment period", "what to bring" or "difference between", and it can vary over time even for the same search.

Being cited and being mentioned are different

Meaning What to check
Cited Your post appears on an AI Briefing source card Which source position it holds
Mentioned Your business name appears in the summary or related places Whether the name appears correctly

A citation opens a path into your post, while a mention leaves your name with the person searching. You need to record both separately to know what has changed.

Eight conditions for posts that get cited

  1. One question per post: Make the title and first paragraph answer the same question. Do not mix several topics in one post.
  2. The conclusion in the first paragraph: Start with the answer in two or three sentences. Cut back greetings and personal chatter.
  3. Question-style subheadings: Use the sentences people actually search for as subheadings, such as "How long does recovery take?"
  4. Concrete information: Write information that can be checked, such as steps, duration, what to bring and precautions.
  5. Information as body text: Text inside images may not be read, so write the key content as text in the body.
  6. Fewer ad phrases: Exaggeration and repeated lists of business names make a post look less like information.
  7. Accurate business details: Work the business name and area naturally into the text, spelled the same way as on Naver Place.
  8. Keep it current: Update information that changes, such as pricing, opening hours and equipment.

How to check

Search Naver yourself with the keywords actually used in the post and the business's area, and record the results like this.

Search Blog tab Integrated search Naver AI Briefing
(e.g.) Haeundae acne scars #2 #4 1st source
(e.g.) Centum laser toning #5 Not ranked No AI Briefing

The values in the table are examples to show how to record results. MAKE Marketing uses MAKE AI to group recent posts with the keywords used in them and check Blog tab and integrated search rankings together with AI Briefing citations and mentions.

For clinic blogs

Clinic blog posts can count as medical advertising. Even when aiming for AI Briefing citations, patient treatment stories, before-and-after photos and phrases like "the best" or "no side effects" can breach Article 56 of Korea's Medical Service Act. Writing around information such as the treatment process, duration and precautions both follows the rules and works better for AI Briefing. The details are in our medical advertising checklist.

Frequently asked questions

What about searches where AI Briefing does not appear?

For those searches, track Blog tab and integrated search rankings, and write posts for informational searches on the same topic where AI Briefing does appear.

Does a blog need a high blog index to be cited?

Naver has not published all its criteria for choosing sources, so no one can say for sure. Along with the blog's trustworthiness, what matters is whether the post answers the question precisely, so we recommend checking post structure first.

Will being cited bring more visitors?

Some people will click through from the source card, but many searches end with the summary. That is why you should also check whether your business name is mentioned, not just cited.
